Toys For Tots

Every year I do a lot of family and kids holiday photo sessions. The session is $50 in the studio and the portraits or packages are addtional. This year, I decided it would be very cool to have my customers donate an unwrapped new toy for Toys for Tots instead of a session fee. You could schedule a session in my NEW studio for family, kids, pets or all of the above. This is something new I just thought up this year... we'll see how many toys we can collect for all of the kids out there hoping Santa will bring them a toy because they have been good.

I'm taking appointments anytime from now until December 20th. Let me know if you have any other questions or would like to schedule a session. You can go to my website to download the packages and price list. Holiday cards and digital images are also available... and much more!

Happy Holidays & Peace!

St. Joseph High School Marching Band

The St. Joe Bears didn't win the football game last night against the Lakeshore Lancers, but, the St. Joe marching band was amazing! The weather was unseasonably warm for October and the stadium was standing room only. I photographed the marching band before the game, in the stands, and during the halftime show. It was all about the BAND for me (especially being a formal band member ;)... there were plenty of other photographers focusing on the football players.

It's YOUR year... YOUR life! SENIORS 2012

It's been a great summer journey photographing high school seniors at many different locations. Moving our studio to the Arts District in Benton Harbor has provided such an amazing backdrop for high school senior pix. We still take the traditional photos for the yearbook in the studio, but the FUN and CREATIVITY begin when we step outside and walk around town. It's actually overwhelming to have so many different textures and natural props just a few steps from the studio. Of course, the beach is still one of the favorite locations to go to... and we're only a few minutes from there too!

LAST CALL for FALL!!! We're already booked up every Saturday in October for fall photos...so give us a call if you want outdoor photos. The snow will be here before you know it. The yearbook deadline is also only a couple months away for St. Joe and Lakeshore High School... Let me know if you have any questions. You can download our price list and see more senior pix on our website. www.kirianstudio.com

Ella is AWESOME!

This was such a fun 2 year photo shoot of Ella. Ella is awesome... and she told me I'm awesome too! I love photographing 2 year olds because they are so carefree and full of energy... just like me! After the photo session was over, Ella decided to get out her washable markers and give herself some tattoos and make-up. She also added some new artwork to my arms and feet :) The photo session was not over after that! My camera equipment was put away and I had to get it back out to capture how AWESOME Ella is!

Dog Days of Summer

The Dog Days of Summer
July 3 - August 11

Why do we call the sultry & hot days of summer "dog days?"
It's in the STARS!

When light pollution is not present and the sky is clear, you can connect the dots of the stars to create images of dogs. The brightest star in the night sky is Sirius; also known as Canis Major or the big dog.

Sirius rises and sets with the sun in late July. In ancient times groups of people in different parts of the world believed the stars added to the heat of the sun. They named this period of time, from July 3rd to August 11th, “dog days” after the dog star.

Thanks to all of the doggies and owners for coming to Bitsy Peabody's Dog Days of Summer PARTY! Bitsy especially thanks Angi Caldwell and Jenna Mammina for inviting their furry friends :)
